Unprecedented Selection of Hermès Constance Handbags Leads the Art of Luxury Sale at Bonhams Paris

Paris - Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr is proud to present The Art of Luxury – Hermès, Chanel, Vuitton, an exclusive two-day auction to be held on 25 and 26 November 2025.

Across 490 exceptional lots, the sale brings together an exquisite assemblage of collectible fashion and accessories from the world's most celebrated luxury Maisons. Collectors will discover outstanding Hermès Kelly and Birkin handbags, enduringly elegant Chanel 2.55 bags and signature Chanel jewellery, along with a refined selection of Louis Vuitton shawls—each representing the pinnacle of craftsmanship and timeless design.

Taking centre stage in the 25 November live sale is a remarkable ensemble of six pristine Hermès Constance handbags, offered in a spectrum of colourways. These rare and coveted examples are poised to enchant collectors with their timeless appeal.

The Constance holds a distinguished place within the Hermès pantheon, standing alongside the Kelly and the Birkin as one of the Maison's three iconic handbags. Created in 1967 at the request of Hermès Executive Chairman Jean-Louis Dumas, the design was conceived by Catherine Chaillet, who named it in honour of her daughter, Constance, born during its creation.

Defined by its sleek profile, the unmistakable graphic "H" clasp and an effortlessly versatile adjustable strap, the Constance embodies a modern urban spirit—at once practical, elegant and quietly sporty. Its aura of understated sophistication was immortalised when Jacqueline
Kennedy Onassis was repeatedly photographed with the bag, a moment that transformed it into a global style icon.

Hubert Felbacq, Director of the Fashion and Accessories department at Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris, commented: "We are delighted to showcase an extraordinary offering of Hermès Constance handbags, all preserved in immaculate condition. Renowned for their understated, modern chic, these coveted pieces appear alongside iconic highlights including the Chanel 2.55 handbag and Chanel jewellery. This sale—celebrating the very best of timeless style—is certain to inspire and excite collectors globally."
