New York – On August 7 in New York, Bonhams American Art Online sale concluded with successful result with works from American artists including Bob Ross (1942-1995), Paul Resika (b.1928), Emma Fordyce MacRae (1887-1974), and John Sloan (1871-1951), to name a few, performing well beyond their estimates and establishing new global auction records for both Bob Ross and Paul Resika.

The sale overall achieved over $764,000, nearly doubling its presale estimate.

Leading the online sale were two paintings by Bob Ross (1942-1995), both originating from the same private family collection. Lake Below Snow-Capped Peaks and Cloudy Sky, circa 1990-91, sold for $114,800, more than doubling its high estimate and establishing a new global auction record for Bob Ross. Meanwhile, Lake Below Snow-Covered Mountains and Clear Sky, circa 1990-91 sold for $95,750, more than tripling its low estimate.

Additional highlights that surpassed estimates include:

• Provincetown, Canaletto, 1990, by Paul Reiska (b.1928), sold for $70,350, more than 5x its low estimate, setting a new global auction record for the American artist.

• Pink and Freckled Lilies, 1922, by Emma Fordyce MacRae (1887-1974), sold for $30,720, more than 6x its high estimate.

• New York Street Scene by Robert Henri (1865-1929) sold for $25,600, more than 6x its low estimate.

• Storm Sky, Palisades, II, 1908, by John Sloan (1871-1951) sold for $20,480, more than 11x its high estimate.
