Boston – Bonhams proudly concluded the highly anticipated auction of The Encyclopedic Whisky Collection, the largest and most comprehensive single-owner collection of spirits ever offered ever offered at Bonhams in the US. Spanning two sales throughout June, the collection, representative of a slice of history of Scotland's greatest whiskies, alongside standout examples of American and Japanese whisky, drew significant interest from collectors and achieved impressive results, realizing a combined total of $1.21 million.
On June 26, The Encyclopedic Whisky Collection auction, which also served as the inaugural auction at the newly opened Bonhams Skinner saleroom at 236 Clarendon Street in Boston, resulted in 90% of lots sold. Among the highlights was the complete Macallan in Lalique Six Pillars series, which made its auction debut and achieved a collective total of $492,500, with all bottles successfully sold.
Following the live auction, on June 30, The Encyclopedic Collection: No Reserve Online Edition, which featured an extraordinary selection of 250 lots, concluded with white glove results.
