F1 Technology Meets the Road
Mercedes-AMG One Leads Bonhams Goodwood Grid

Chichester, UK – Bonhams|Cars will return to the Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale on 11 July 2025, featuring a diverse selection of vehicles, including some of the most advanced and exclusive hypercars ever produced.

Among the highlights of this year's sale is a 2023 Mercedes-AMG ONE, estimated at £2,400,000 – 2,800,000. With just 275 examples produced globally, the AMG ONE brings genuine Formula 1 hybrid powertrain technology to the road. Powered by a 1.6-litre V6 turbo hybrid engine derived directly from Mercedes-AMG's Formula 1 programme, the car produces 1,063 horsepower and achieves a top speed of over 219 mph. This example is presented in delivery-mile condition and is one of fewer than a dozen UK-registered cars.

The AMG ONE set a production car lap record at the Nürburgring with a time of 6:29.090, making it the first to dip below 6:30. Its exclusivity is further underscored by a high-profile ownership list, including F1 champions such as Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, and Valtteri Bottas.

Tim Schofield, Senior Specialist, Head of Department at Bonhams|Cars, said "From track to tarmac, the AMG ONE is nothing short of a technological masterpiece. To offer such a machine at Goodwood, the home of motorsport celebration, is a real thrill."

Joining the AMG ONE on the start line at Goodwood are a number of exceptional collector cars from across the eras:

Another highlight this year is a 1987 MG Metro 6R4 'Group B' Rally Car, formerly owned by legendary rally driver Colin McRae, offered with an estimate of £250,000 – 300,000. Designed by Patrick Head of Williams Grand Prix Engineering in collaboration with Austin Rover. The MG Metro 6R4 was the first and only ever Rally Car to be designed, developed and built using period Formula 1 technology in conjunction with a current leading Formula 1 manufacturer.

Additionally in this sale is a 1983/2004 Ford C100 MKIII Group C Race Car carrying the estimate of £250,000 – 350,000. Designed by renowned motorsport engineer Tony Southgate, this exceptional Group C car served as the inspiration for the iconic Jaguar XJR-9 which won Le Mans in 1988. With proven eligibility for prestigious historic series such as Peter Auto's Group C Racing and the Masters Group C series, it also boasts notable track history, having been driven at Silverstone by celebrated Le Mans drivers David Leslie and Neil Cunningham.

Also featured at Goodwood is a rare 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One Edition, estimated at £380,000 – 450,000. Available only to buyers of the AMG-ONE hypercar, also in the sale, it boasts a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 720 hp and 0–60 mph in 3.2 seconds. Its striking livery draws from the AMG Project One and F1 W11, with Petronas teal accents and fading three-pointed stars. The exclusive design package added £43,000 from standard, making this a truly collectible performance machine.

Continuing a theme of modern supercars at the Goodwood sale, a 1992 Jaguar XJ220 Coupé will be offered with the estimate of £300,000 – 350,000. The XJ220, produced in collaboration with race engineering company Tom Walkinshaw Racing, was, like the Mercedes-AMG One, the fastest road legal car of its day, with a top speed of 217mph. A two-owner car and only c.2,800 miles from new.

Also coming up for sale 11 July is a 1992 Mazda RX-7 FD Veilside Fortune Coupé, estimate £250,000 – 350,000, one of only two survivors from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), is offered in superb, road-legal condition. Built by Veilside Co Ltd for Universal Studios, it features the iconic Fortune wide-body kit and striking orange and black livery. Used for static and close-up shots, not drifting, it retains production markings and period modifications, including a rebuilt twin-rotor engine, Veilside seats, NOS bottle, and Alpine sound system. Carefully stored and sparingly driven since 2008, this is a rare, well-documented icon of film and car culture.

Additional highlights include:

2007 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Coupé. Estimate: £500,000 – 800,000
2020 McLaren 720S Le Mans Coupé. Estimate: £145,000 – 165,000
1998 AC Cobra 427 MkIII Roadster with Hardtop. Estimate: £170,000 – 220,000
