Los Angeles - On September 21, Bonhams Los Angeles presented Il Sogno: The Collection of Howard and Yvette Mimieux Ruby, a single owner sale from one of the last true estates in Bel-Air, featuring an incredibly wide spectrum of disciplines and finding particular success with 17th century European bronzes and Old Master paintings. The couple's Bel-Air 12,000 square foot home, named Il Sogno, was a European retreat in the heart of Los Angeles. The sale overall achieved $1,654,578 with 100% sold by value.
"This sale was a remarkable opportunity to showcase and tell the story of an incredible couple who filled their home with homages to their many travels and life together," said Anna Hicks, Head of Bonhams Furniture and Decorative Arts department in Los Angeles. "Their Bel Air home, Il Sogno, was focused heavily on old world European furniture and art so it was exciting to see that a sale of this style and calibre can find incredible success in Los Angles."
