ENDURING STYLE: A SINGLE OWNER COLLECTION OF DESIGNER HANDBAGS AND FASHION 100% SOLD

The Bonhams Designer Handbags and Fashion Department had its first white glove sale this week, with a 100% sell-through rate for its first online sale of the year Enduring Style: A Single Owner Collection of Designer Handbags and Fashion Sale, which closed on Wednesday (9 February).
The digital sale offered more than 150 designer pieces ranging from handbags and accessories to clothing, representing the great fashion houses from Chanel and Hermès to Prada and Gucci. The timeless and classic collection had been accrued by a discerning collector all lots were offered in pristine condition, with many pieces never worn or used.
The most valuable pieces in the sale were an exclusive pair of Hermès Birkin handbags: a Tangerine H Ostrich Birkin 30, 2002 and Special order 'Horseshoe Stamp' Bicolour Etain and Black Togo Birkin 30, 2018, which was a custom-designed one-off. Both handbags doubled their estimates to sell for £20,250.
Nine of the ten top lots of the sale achieved above estimate prices. Other highlights included:

Chanel So Black Chevron Quilted Lambskin Classic Double Flap, Spring 2015, featuring particularly rare and sought-after black hardware, topped its estimate to sell for £7,013.

Chanel Royal Blue Quilted Lambskin Classic Double Flap, 2019, sold above estimate for £6,120.
Chanel Navy Blue Double-Breasted Pea Coat, pre-Fall 2018, sold for £2,040, three times its estimate.
Meg Randell, Head of the Bonhams Designer Handbags and Fashion department, said: "We're thrilled with this result. The collection reflected its owner's amazing taste, and every lot was offered in perfect condition, attracting lots of bidders from the UK and abroad."
A further selection from the Enduring Style Collection will be offered later in the year.
Meanwhile, the department is consigning for its first live sale of the year which will take place on 16 March at Bonhams Knightsbridge. Early consignments include beach-ready pieces such as a Chanel Orange Woven Raffia Flap Bag, estimate £3,000 – 5,000 and even a Chanel carbon fibre surfboard, estimate £2,000 – 3,000.
