Eleven jewels owned by Dame Joan Collins are to be offered at Bonhams Knightsbridge Jewels sale on 9 June in London. Amongst the impressive collection is a turquoise and gold necklace given to her by Warren Beatty, then her fiancé, on the occasion that he landed the lead in the film Splendor in the Grass. The necklace has an estimate of £2,000-3,000. The collection has a total estimate of £20,000-28,000.
Speaking in the Summer issue of Bonhams Magazine, Dame Joan Collins commented: "I do buy jewellery for myself as a reward. It's something I highly recommend. I think more women should do it...I do hope my jewels in the sale will inspire women. Now we are edging into a more normal life, aren't we all are looking forward to putting on a fabulous frock, piling on jewellery and plunging into the fray?"

"I bought this gold necklace for myself in California, when I first got the role of Alexis in Dynasty. I always like to buy myself something when I get a new job. It's like a little reward."
A Chrome diopside and diamond ring. Estimate £2,000 - 3,000
"I'm a great believer in rewards – for myself. I was passing a jewellers in the South of France and fell in love with this ring. I had just finished Season 4 of Dynasty."
A Turquoise and gold necklace. Estimate £2,000 - 3,000
"This was given to me by Warren Beatty, then my fiancé. We were living in New York in the apartment of Paul and Joanne Newman, and Warren had just landed a role in Splendor in the Grass."
A Coral and gold brooch by Roy King. Estimate £3,000 - 4,000
"Anthony Newley, the father of my two eldest children Tara and Alexander, was in New York with his show Stop the World – I Want to Get Off and, as it was my birthday, we went window-shopping on Fifth Avenue. We happened to pass a jewellers where I saw this fabulous brooch. I just adored it, which I told him, a number of times. Imagine the thrill when I opened up my birthday presents and there it was."
Cultured pearl and ruby bracelet Estimate £1,500 - 2,000
"This pearl and ruby bracelet has a lot of memories. It was given to me on my 21st birthday by my parents. I wore the bracelet for a long time, but now I feel that someone else might like to wear it. It is gorgeous."
Jade and diamond earrings. Estimate £2,500 - 3,000
"One of my great friends was the Chanteuse and nightclub owner, Régine. We were in Rio de Janeiro at the time of the carnival, but that didn't stop Régine from visiting jewellery shops. So we wove our way through the singing and dancing crowds to the shop. I was so carried away by the atmosphere, I bought these gorgeous earrings."
A Tiffany gold and enamel bangle. Estimate £1,500 - 2,000
"I bought this in Rome in 1960 while I was in a Biblical spectacle called Esther and the King. I was walking down the Via Condotti near the Spanish Steps when I saw it in the window and bought it on impulse."
Pink tourmaline earrings. Estimate £1,500 - 2,000
"These were given to me by my friend, the actress Viviane Ventura. She gave those to me after a photo shoot we did together in South Africa. I still find them extremely pretty."
A Ruby, diamond and enamel ring. Estimate £2,000 - 3,000
"I bought this during Dynasty during the 1980s. I saw it in Beverly Hills Jewellers, and thought it very original and unusual. I actually wore it in Dynasty, as it felt like an extension of Alexis' personality."
A Fancy link gold bracelet. Estimate £1,500 - 2,000
"This was given to by me by my husband Ron Kass, father of my daughter Katyana. He gave me this gorgeous gold bracelet when I was in hospital having just given birth to Katy."

"Whenever I wear this I am transported back to the South of France. It was given to me by a very good friend... as a birthday present."
