This December, Bonhams are delighted to be offering a magnificent Sèvres gold-mounted snuff-box, circa 1785, made for Madame Adélaïde, daughter of Louis XV (lot 126). Depicting her barbet dog, Vizir, and other palace pets, the snuff-box comes to the market for the first time having been in the Rothschild family for five generations.

For a foreword by Dr Mia Jackson, Senior Curator of Decorative Arts, Waddesdon Manor, see the page 105 in the pdf and printed catalogue.

Bonhams is also honoured to offer The Richard Deacon Collection of Sèvres porcelain, with highlights including a green-ground cuvette Mahon dated 1757 (lot 83) and a rose marbré écuelle cover and stand painted by Charles-Nicolas Dodin, dated 1762 (lot 89).

On Sunday 30th November from 3pm – 5pm, we invite you to join us in toasting these remarkable pieces alongside the wider offerings from The Classics Winter season 2025. Please RSVP to leni.howard@bonhams.com.
