A legend of horology on the wrist, the Rolex 4767 Oyster Chronograph, famously known as the "Jean-Claude Killy", is one of the rarest and most sought-after Rolex chronographs ever produced. Introduced in 1947, this reference revolutionized watchmaking by pairing a triple calendar complication with the robust, water-resistant Oyster case—an extraordinary fusion of technical mastery and timeless elegance. Considered the pioneer of the golden age of complicated Oyster chronographs, the 4767 laid the foundation for one of Rolex's most prestigious families of timepieces.
Extremely limited in production between 1947 and 1951, only around 200 stainless steel, 50–60 yellow gold, and fewer than 10 rose gold examples were ever made. Within this already exclusive lineage, research indicates that only five examples in 18K yellow gold with the highly coveted three-tone dial are known today, placing the present watch among the rarest survivors of its kind.
The silvered three-tone dial, perfectly balanced, elegantly displays day, date, and month, powered by the legendary Valjoux 72C manual-winding movement. Its association with Olympic champion Jean-Claude Killy has cemented its place in history, transforming this already exceptional chronograph into a symbol of sporting prestige and horological distinction.
This extraordinary example is offered complete with its original box, guarantee papers, two additional bracelet links, and original boutique tag, a testament to its provenance and collector-ready condition. A masterpiece of design, craftsmanship, and historical significance, this Rolex 4767 is more than a watch—it is a legendary icon, a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the discerning collector to acquire a piece of horological history.
