A famille-rose reticulated lantern

Qianlong seal mark, Late Qing dynasty/Republic period
The bulbous body set over a spreading foot and supporting a broad octagonal galleried rim, the body carved with an openwork wan-fret pattern with four reserved roundels each enclosing a figural scene, the openwork fret glazed turquoise and bordered by solid bands above and below each painted with ruyi heads against a millefleur ground, the flaring rim similarly painted with a floral ground and pierced with a pair of 'double coins' on each facet, set with four upright loops each with a blue-enameled metal chain for suspension, the foot pierced with small apertures for suspending tassels, the base with a six-character seal mark in iron red within a square.
