A green jade brush holder

Republic period/20th century
Naturalistically carved in the form of a section of a gnarled tree trunk wrapped in blossoming branches and surmounted by a phoenix grasping sprig of lingzhi in its beak, joined to a peach-form brush washer issuing from gnarled branches and incised with a bat, all above a cluster of lingzhi, the stone of variegated green hues with black inclusions.
