A famille rose enameled porcelain vase
Qianlong mark, Republic period
Thinly potted with a tapering ovoid body and everted lip, the sides finely painted in pleasant enamels with a continuous scene, depicting a scholar leaning against the railing of an elaborate gazebo watching a boy fishing in a boat, and a young attendant brewing tea in the shade of bamboo, one side inscribed with two lines of a poem echoing the painted scene, with three seals, the underside carrying a red enameled Qianlong four-character mark in regular script within a square filled in gold color (extensive hairline crack to shoulder, wear).
