A Lady's Embroidered brown silk robe
Late Qing/Republic period
Designed with a central opening, the brown ground woven with scattered green flower branches, and skillfully embroidered in polychrome satin threads displaying six large flower roundels to the front and back, each roundel enclosing an archaic incense burner, further surrounded by large leafy blossoms and butterflies; the collar, sleeve bands and hem lined with ivory silk bands decorated with additional embroideries (staining, tears).
