A squat Cizhou black stoneware vase, meiping

13/15th Century
The globular meiping with rounded shoulders and wide body, painted in iron-brown in a continuous scene with a bird amidst bamboo sprays, all below leaf lappets on the shoulder and a cylindrical neck with everted rim, the high-fired stoneware base unglazed.
