A pale green and russet jade seal paste box and cover

18th century
Of compressed globular form with thin walls, the flat top of the cover carved with a central flowerhead enclosed by linked tendrils above dissolved animal masks, the sides of the box carved with flower and leaf roundels separated by alternating pine and bamboo leaves, all supported on a shallow wide ring foot, the pale greenish white color of the stone showing with patches of golden brown hue.
