A carved nephrite beast-form plaque

Qing dynasty
Reticulated in irregularly ovoid section to depict an archaistic avian creature biting at its curled tail, adorned in shallow raised relief in incised details and carved from stone of greenish gray highlighted by prominent veins of russet.
4 1/2in (11.5cm) wide
