石魯(1919-1982),原名馮亞衍,四川仁壽人,因仰慕石濤和魯迅,以石魯為號。
1961年「西安美協國畫研究室習作展」在北京展出,震動了北京和全國畫壇,繼被譽為「長安畫派」,與傅抱石為核心的「新金陵畫派」攜手稱雄於當代中國畫史,從而改變了現代中國畫史上地域性畫派的中心。而石魯就是長安畫派的理論中堅和藝術巨擘。
石魯撰有《學畫錄》等幾部手稿,在一系列藝術問題上提出獨到見解。他將現實主義與浪漫主義結合,提出了「生活決定精神」和「主體為人」、「物化為我,我化為筆墨」的藝術創作主張。他的這種理念在以人物為主題的作品中有著集中的表現。此幅〈縫衣女〉以沒骨與線條勾勒相結合的方法,形像地刻畫出縫衣少女的神情與姿態,表現出陝北地方風情,頗具生活氣息。
