Two amber glass snuff bottles

1750-1860
Each of compressed globular form, supported on a finely finished oval foot ring, the first with a cylindrical neck, flat lip, the semi-transparent amber ground suffused with striking black inclusions imitating tortoise shell; the second surmounted with two raised faux lion mask-and-ring handles, its gently waisted neck wrapped with vertical plantain leaves, the lower section of the bottle encased by a veined lotus leaf with carefully detailed, rolled edges.
2 and 2 1/4in (5.1 and 5.7cm) high
