A carved 'realgar' glass snuff bottle

1750-1850
Of high-shouldered tapering form with a gently waisted neck, flat lip, oval foot ring, carved through the mottled red and yellow layer to the mustard-yellow ground, one side featuring a man on a galloping horse holding a hunting tool, with a hawk above, the other side portraying a cheerful boy under a ruyi-form cloud scroll, all picked out against a mountainous setting with a plant rendered in green overlay.
