A dark brown overlaid toffee glass snuff bottle

Yangzhou School, dated 1821 or 1881
The rounded bottle on a delicate oval foot ring, its short, slightly waisted neck narrowing towards a subtly convex lip, skillfully carved through the dark brown overlay to one side with a blind old man carrying instruments guided by a young boy via a stick, fronted by a rooster, with a four-character inscription, the reverse depicting a bearded man with a dog and a food basket, dated xinsi er yue (February 1821, or 1881), with a collector's seal mark reading Li, both of the narrow sides decorated with an archaic 'bronze' jue vessel.
