A carved agate snuff bottle

1750-1860
Well-hollowed, of rounded square form with a cylindrical neck, concave lip, well-finished oval foot ring, one side utilizing the white stratum of the stone, carved in relief with a playful Pekinese lion dog jumping towards a swooping bird; the stone of predominately gray color exhibiting russet and creamy-white inclusions.
