An ivory abstinence plaque

19th century
The thin rectangular plaque centered to the front and back with zhaijie and bolgomi targa reserved on a raised network of finely carved mythical animals and interlocking spirals; together with a Ming dynasty plaque elegantly carved in low relief with a bird on a flowering branch.
2 3/8 and 2 1/4in (6 and 5.6cm) high
