A yellow embroidered silk twelve-symbol dragon robe
Embroidered in silk and gold-wrapped threads with nine five-clawed dragons and the twelve imperial symbols placed amid cloud scrolls, shou medallions, flower blossoms, and the Buddhist emblems, within a wide lishui border beneath the celestial diagrams soaring above crashing waves churning auspicious objects, the collar bands and horseshoe cuffs embroidered en suite on a dark blue ground.

Footnotes
Four of the twelve symbols- the sun, moon, mountain, and constellation - are positioned symmetrically around the neck while the eight other symbols appear on the front and back of the robe.

PLEASE NOTE: the catalogue description line for lot 8253 is incorrect and should read: A YELLOW EMBROIDERED SILK FIVE-SYMBOL DRAGON ROBE The symbols include the double-line fu and the axe head on the front chest, the sun and the moon on the opposing shoulders and the dipper constellation split into four stars on the left and three stars on the right back shoulder. The robe lacks the rock, the sacrificial vessels, the water plant, the flames, the grain, the dragon and the flowery creature.
