A cast bronze figure of a bodhisattva

Ming dynasty
The heavily cast figure possibly depicting Maitreya as identified by the kalasha ewer above his right shoulder and the lotus above his left shoulder here supporting a long-tailed bird, the figure attired in elaborate princely garb and diadem, seated in a variant of the bhadrasana posture of both legs pendant upon a recumbent lion further raised upon a single lotus plinth, base unsealed.
