B-9, BB-166, R.1. The so-called Apostrophe variety; a die crack near the top of the second S in STATES resembles an apostrophe. Middle die state with obverse cracks that span the fields, one grazing Liberty's chin as it arcs to the rim above. No adjustment marks mar the surfaces, however both sides exhibit evidence of a moderate cleaning at one time. They are now just starting to retone. A desirable, well detailed example of this ever popular type coin. (PCGS 6878)
