The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, O.B.E., Military Division, Second type; The Order of St.John of Jerusalem, Commander's neck badge; Defence Medal; War Medal; Efficiency Decoration, G.VI.R., dated 1951. All orders and decorations in respective boxes of issue. Good very fine or better. (Lot)

The lot includes a commissioning certificate dated 1.5.1936, Warrant for the O.B.E., letter regarding the TD which mentions receipt of 1st Clasp, quantity of original photographs, service details and phoocopied extract from the Sheffield Telegraph, copy of 2 A.A. Diver History, letter opener made from the first M.E.410 shot down over London.
Colonel R.G.Bellamy was born on 15.3.1908, he was educated at the Kings Grantham Lincoln school and Sheffield University. He joined the O.T.C. and was granted a T.A. commission. At the outbreak of the war he was appointed adjutant of the Officers' Reception Unit in Sheffield, and in January 1940 was transferred to the RAOC and posted to H.Q. A.A. Command. When the R.E.M.E. was founded in 1942 he transferred to this new corps, and by February 1944 had risen to the rank of Colonel. It was then that he took command of the installation of flying bomb equipment, he was given charge of the then new gun strip along the Suffolk, Essex and North Kent coastline.
