Bonhams Returns to Greenwich with Resounding Success
94% sale rate achieved at new waterfront venue in partnership with Berkley One

Greenwich – A 1929 Bentley 4½ Liter Tourer led the live sale return of Bonhams annual Greenwich Auction on Sunday, June 5. Making its auction debut, this former race car, which has been extensively toured, sold for $604,500, attracting numerous bidders. The sale was an overall success achieving an impressive 94% sell-through rate and a total of more than $5,920,556.

Established in 2008 and returning to a live format for the first time since 2019, this popular sale offered a fantastic selection of collector cars including a 1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Sport Saloon, sold for $351,500, and a 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster, sold for $285,500. Smashing its estimate, a 'barn find' 1958 Aston Martin DB MkIII Drophead Coupe, an exceptionally rare model, sold for $246,400.

The sale, held concurrently with the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance, was hosted by Berkley One at a stunning waterfront venue, W. R. Berkley Corporation Global Headquarters on Steamboat Road in Greenwich, CT. Berkley One offers collector vehicle insurance among a suite of personal insurance solutions.

Additional sale highlights:

• One of only 22 produced with the Max Wedge V8 and Pont-à-Mousson Manual, the 1962 Facel Vega Facel II sold for $235,200.

• Achieving beyond their estimates were a 1967 Lamborghini 400GT Islero 2+2, sold for $212,800, a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet, sold for $208,320, and a 1989 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante, sold for $190,400.
