Rachel Du is Specialist and Head of Sale for Chinese Works of Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles. Her areas of expertise include jades, porcelain, scholar's objects and bronzes.
Since joining Bonhams in 2017, Rachel has played a significant role in acquiring property for successful Asian Art auctions in the West Coast, New York and Hong Kong. She was closely involved in the sale of an important and rare 'Confucius-style' huanghuali and zitan-inlaid 'hundred-patch' guqin which achieved HK$5,127,500. Since 2019, she has overseen both live and online Asian Art auctions in Los Angeles and has increased Bonhams' presence with major institutions across the United States.
Before Bonhams, Rachel worked in the gallery and museum sector. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and Art History at the University of California, Davis. She also holds a Master's degree at the University of Chicago, specializing in Chinese art and history.
Rachel is fluent in Mandarin, English, and Spanish.
