Red Beryl
Wah Wah Mountains, Utah
Red beryl (formerly known as "Bixbite" and marketed as "red emerald" or "scarlet emerald") is a red variety of Beryl. It was first described in 1904. The dark red color is attributed to Manganese ions. Utah is the only known locality for the mineral. The claim, once briefly operated by Tiffany and Co. in search of treasured gem rough, is now entirely depleted and closed. A rectangular step-cut beryl with a purplish-red hue. Weighing approximately 3.02 carats and measuring 9.05 x 7.69 x 5.67mm

Accompanied by a DSEF German Lab report numbered 033004 dated January 27, 2021 stating that the 3.02 carats step cut octagonal shape stone is a natural purplish-red beryl and that it shows no indications of clarity and durability enhancement. The stone shows open fissures that contain a foreign material - a presence of diamond - which suggests that this material represents residues of the polishing process.
