Jose MariaFiguerola

José Maria Figuerola is a Senior Specialist in the Jewellery department at Bonhams, based at New Bond Street in London. He is responsible for providing expert valuations and securing consignments for the Jewellery sales across the UK and Europe. His areas of expertise include antique and vintage jewellery, with a particular interest in the Art Deco period and the evolution of Cartier's works from 1900 to the 1930s.

José Maria holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon and is a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America. His gemmological training included a period of study in Thailand, where he focused on coloured gemstones and deepened his knowledge of fine coloured stones.

Prior to joining Bonhams, José Maria spent five years working with leading jewellery dealers, cultivating his knowledge as a specialist in the field and selling fine antique and vintage jewellery.

He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
