Kerry Shrives

Kerry Shrives is a Senior Vice President and Senior Appraiser at Bonhams Skinner. She has over three decades of experience in appraising, cataloging, and selling furniture, decorative art, and fine art from the 17th to the 21st centuries.

In her role, Kerry has handled such significant property as the rediscovery and sale of Fitz Hugh Lane's Sunset at Gloucester Harbor for $3.3 million – a world record for the artist and a record for a painting sold at an American auction outside of New York. She also has broad experience with successful single-owner sales, including the Solomon Collection of Judaica, which brought $1.5 million, including an important silver and silver-gilt synagogue ark-form Hanukkah lamp, which sold for $314,000. Her focus on the intersection of antiques and technology has driven the successful transformation of Bonhams Skinner into a digital business.

Kerry has been a frequent contributor since inception to the popular PBS program Antiques Roadshow and has provided commentary on the antiques and the art market for numerous print and digital news channels, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, ABC, Bloomberg, and The Guardian.

Kerry holds an M.A. degree from the University of London and a B.A. from Smith College.
