Hannah Thompson

Hannah B. Thompson is Bonhams' Director of Museum Services working with specialists and institutions in North America across all categories of art. Prior to entering the auction world, she worked at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the National Palace Museum, Taipei. From 2021 to early 2025, Hannah was Bonhams' Head of Asian Art on the West Coast, specialising in Chinese works of art.

Prior to joining Bonhams, Hannah spent half a decade as a Chinese works of art specialist at Sotheby's. Her 18 years of experience in the field have provided her with deep expertise in Chinese works of art, as well as strong relationships in the museum and private sector. Hannah is a certified appraiser with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Hannah holds a BA in Classics from Davidson College, and a MA in Asian Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
