Anna Hicks is the Head of Private & Iconic Collections at Bonhams. Since joining the company in 2018, Anna has presented collections from some of history's most celebrated figures, including Tom Petty, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Roy & Dorothy Lichtenstein, Barbara Walters, Senator Dianne Feinstein, and Anne Rice.
In her role, Anna oversees every stage of the auction process, from the initial sale proposal to cataloging and marketing, ensuring each collection is showcased to its fullest potential. Leveraging Bonhams' global network of auction houses, her leadership has brought these iconic collections to an international audience, consistently achieving top-tier results that often surpass pre-sale estimates.
During her time at Bonhams, Anna led Bonhams' Department for Furniture and Decorative Arts, where she was responsible for securing and cataloging consignments, as well as conducting fair market value and insurance appraisals. She also aids in creating and maintaining relationships with collectors and dealers throughout the country.
Anna has over 18 years of auction house experience in the furniture and decorative arts specialty. Her career began at Sotheby's in London, and in 2007, she transitioned to Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers in New York, where she held several key positions, including Vice President and Specialist.
Anna earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on early European paintings. It was during an internship at a Dallas-based auction house that she discovered her passion for the decorative arts. This led her to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree at Sotheby's Institute of Art in London, specializing in 18th- and 19th-century furniture and decorative art. She is also a certified member of the Appraisers Association of America.
