Frederick Millar

Frederick Millar is Senior Specialist, Head of Sale in the Impressionist & Modern Art department at Bonhams in New York. Before joining the New York team in June 2025, he was based in the London department from October 2017. His focus across both locations is to work with our global network of colleagues and clients to develop successful and impactful results at Bonhams. In addition to this, Fred also oversees the department's thorough cataloguing, research and authentication procedures in advance of the auctions. Working on all main and themed sales in the department, he has a special interest in the themes of Post-Impressionism, Fauvism and Expressionism, with a particular passion for works on paper.

Among Fred's exceptional results are Edvard Munch's Figurer ved Seinen i Saint-Cloud (£390,900), which achieved over three times the high estimate, and Maurice de Vlaminck's La forêt (£1,122,300).
