Jennifer Tonkin is Senior Specialist for Jewelry at Bonhams New Bond Street in London. Her areas of expertise include mid-20th century jewelry, particularly from 1940-70, as well as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels.
Jennifer sources property for the Jewelry department's 14 annual auctions in London, and regularly travels to Greece and the Channel Islands on business. Among her exceptional results are a 7.03 carat step-cut diamond ring, which realized £68,000 at Bonhams New Bond Street in December 2019, and a jade and diamond necklace mounted by Cartier, which realized HK$200,625 in Hong Kong in July 2020.
Joining Bonhams in 2006, Jennifer previously specialized in portrait miniatures, becoming Head of Department in 2013. During this time, she cataloged a number of important auctions, including the Brian and Judy Harden Collection and the Richard Allen Collection. Jennifer joined Bonhams Jewelry department in 2014.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor's degree in Illustration from the Arts Institute at Bournemouth and a Postgraduate Diploma in the History & Business of Art & Collecting from IESA in Paris.
