Mathieu Guyot-Sionnest joined Bonhams Los Angeles as a Motorcycle Specialist in August 2019. Born and raised in Paris, France, Mathieu was introduced to the classic vehicle's world early in life, accompanying his father to various classic car events and races, like Le Mans Classic or Le Tour Auto. When he was finishing his master's degree in International Business, he decided to open a restoration and preservation motorcycle shop just outside Paris, while racing vintage cars at various events in Europe and hunting collectible vehicles for private clients. After moving to Los Angeles in 2017, Mathieu started writing for various vintage automobile and motorcycle websites, sourcing classic US-market vehicles for French clients, and participating in classic vehicles events.
Quickly, Mathieu started showing its double specialty consigning important cars for some of Bonhams Auctions while leading the US Motorcycle Department. As an example, Mathieu successfully sold a 1955 Arnolt-Bristol Bolide at Bonhams Scottsdale auction, or a 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha at Bonhams Los Angeles auction.
Mathieu regularly travels back to Europe to participate in vintage car races and events with his father and brother, and regularly participates in vintage motorcycle races in the US.
