Craig Mallery joined Bonhams as the Collectors' Motorcycles Specialist in Los Angeles in October 2018. He has had a lifelong passion for all forms of motorcycling, along with the restoration and preservation of motorcycles.
At his first Las Vegas sale in 2018, Bonhams set a world record for the most valuable motorcycle ever sold at auction, the ex-Jack Ehret 1951 Vincent Black Lightning which sold for $929,000. In his first year, Craig helped to establish the Collectors' Motorcycles auction at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, where a new record was set for an off-road motorcycle with the ex-Steve McQueen 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross selling for $230,500.
Prior to joining Bonhams, Craig was the owner and operator of Napa Valley Moto, an eclectic motorcycle shop in the heart of California's Wine Country, serving a dedicated clientele of local riders and visiting motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world.
Craig is a former amateur road racer with the American Federation of Motorcyclists, and is a member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America and the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club of North America. He graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 1993.
