Madalina Lazen joined Bonhams in 2011 as a Senior Specialist in the European Paintings Department.

She is in charge of the 19th Century Paintings Department in New York, where she has been instrumental in the sale of major works by Adolphe Bouguereau, Edwin Lord Weeks and Fredrick Arthur Bridgman, as well as single-owner sales, such as the Lauren Bacall Collection.

With more than 22 years of experience, Madalina began work in 1996 in the Fine Arts Department of Sotheby's New York, where she was in charge of Old Master and 19th Century European art sales and was closely involved with the sales of American Paintings, Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary Art. In addition, she was involved in the sale of major collections, including the Collection of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and the Bill Blass Collection.

In 2009, she opened her own appraisal business and joined the Appraisers Association of America.

Madalina holds a Master's degree in Art History from the J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.
