Oliver White has led the Islamic and Indian Art Department since 2015, having joined Bonhams in 2008. Personal highlights of his career include discovering a rare 16th-century Gujarat mother of pearl-inlaid tray, which, having languished semi-forgotten under a bed for 30 years, sold for just under £1m, against an estimate of £60,000-80,000, and being involved in the sale of the Tipu Sultan Collection which totalled over £6m.

Prior to Bonhams, Oliver studied History of Art and Spanish at UCL and spent his third year in Spain studying Islamic Art at the university of Granada.
