Susan Abeles is the Director of US Jewelry based in New York. She has more than 29 years of experience in the auction world and with the private jewelry trade.
Starting her jewelry career in the New York auction world in 1981, Abeles was first appointed Director of Jewelry at an international auction house, before moving to another in 1994 to serve again as Director. From 2001 to the present, Abeles has been working in a senior capacity at one of New York City's, leading family-owned jewelry businesses.
Abeles has an accomplished career in the jewelry industry with an emphasis on new business development, account management and expansion. During her career, her clients have included Bulgari, Cartier, The Musee of Decorative Arts, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Van Cleef & Arpels. She has represented private estates and individuals such as Gloria Swanson, Rock Hudson, Marilyn Monroe®, Mae West, Payne Whitney, Irving Berlin, the Mackay and Rockefeller families, James Beard, Diana Vreeland and the Duchess of Windsor.
Abeles continues to lecture widely, makes appearances on PBS' "Antiques Roadshow®" and conducts charity auctions across the country.
