Jean Ghika is Global Director of Jewellery for Bonhams. Jean also sits on the UK Board of Directors. She is recognised as one of the world's leading jewellery experts.

Jean has been with Bonhams for more than 25 years. Before being appointed Global Director, Jean was in charge of Bonhams Jewellery UK & Europe and was instrumental in guiding the London jewellery department to become market leader in the UK.

During her career to date, Jean Ghika has been responsible for:
- The sale of a fancy vivid blue diamond ring by Bulgari that sold for £1.8 million in 2011, the most valuable jewel sold at auction in the UK that year.
- The only sale dedicated solely to the work of pioneering British jewellery designer Andrew Grima in 2006.
- Directing the sale of the 5.30 carat fancy deep blue diamond which sold for £6.2 million in 2013, the current world record price per carat for a fancy deep blue diamond sold at auction.
- The sale of 'The Hope Spinel', an exceptional 50 carat gemstone previously in the collection of Henry Philip Hope, which sold in September 2015 for £962,500, the current world record price for a spinel.
- The sale of a fancy intense blue diamond from a British private collection which sold for £2.32m in September 2016.
- The sale of a fancy intense blue diamond from a British private collection which sold for £2.68m in September 2017.

With 25 years of experience in the jewellery business, Jean has amassed a wealth of expertise in the area. As well as her extensive knowledge in respect of precious stones, she also specialises in 18th, 19th and 20th century jewellery and has a specific interest in signed jewels from the art deco period. Jean also has a particular passion for 18th and 19th century Indian jewellery.

Given Jean's clients are based all over the world, she travels extensively to showcase jewellery in forthcoming sales as well as assessing items for potential future auctions. She is a regular industry commentator in the press and is frequently interviewed for both TV and radio.
