Jean Ghika is Global Director of Jewellery for Bonhams and is recognised as one of the world's leading jewellery experts.

Jean has been with Bonhams for more than 27 years. Before being appointed Global Director in 2017, Jean was Director of Jewellery for the UK & Europe and during her tenure she was instrumental in guiding the London jewellery department to become market leader in the UK.

During her career to date, Jean has been responsible for:

- The only sale dedicated solely to the work of pioneering British jewellery designer Andrew Grima in 2006.
- Directing the sale of the 5.30 carat fancy deep blue diamond which sold for £6.2 million in 2013, the current world record price per carat for a fancy deep blue diamond sold at auction.
- The sale of 'The Hope Spinel', an exceptional 50 carat gemstone previously in the collection of Henry Philip Hope, which sold in September 2015 for £962,500, the current world record price for a spinel.
- The sale of a fancy intense blue diamond from a British private collection which sold for £2.32m in September 2016.
- The sale of a fancy intense blue diamond from a British private collection which sold for £2.68m in September 2017.
- The sale of a fancy pink diamond from a British private collection which sold for £2.28m in September 2018, the current world record price per carat for a fancy pink diamond sold at auction.

As well as her extensive knowledge of precious stones, Jean also specialises in 18th, 19th and 20th Century jewellery and has a specific interest in signed jewels from the art deco period. Jean also has a particular passion for 18th and 19th century Indian jewellery.

Jean is also a regular industry commentator in the press and is frequently interviewed for both TV and radio.
