Dana Ehrman, a Graduate Gemologist, is the Director of Bonhams Fine Jewellery Department in Los Angeles. Dana has worked for Bonhams off and on since 1996. Since rejoining the company in February of 2014, she has been responsible for acquiring property, appraising all levels of jewellery and managing the day-to-day business of the department. She works closely with the Jewellery teams in New York and San Francisco to promote, support and develop existing and emerging auction categories.
During Ms. Ehrman's time with the company, she was the lead on an East Coast collection of important antique jewellery in a single-owner sale totaling over $6.2 million dollars, as well as cultivating rare signed pieces from private collections from fine design houses such as Cartier, Boivin, Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, and Boucheron.
Her 30 years in the jewellery business has allowed her to develop a refined knowledge of the antique and estate jewellery market, and to create an extensive clientele base with diverse needs. Catering to the high-end market, she has a distinct eye for the unusual, and works closely with her clients to cultivate their private collections.
Prior to her position at Bonhams, Ms. Ehrman was the manager of an exclusive East Coast antique and estate jewellery store, as well as many years of retail sales and buying from the public, from Washington DC to Beverly Hills. This well rounded education lead straight to the auction world, which is her expertise and her passion.
