Latour 1948 takes Top Spot at November Fine Wine Sale in London

A case of Château Latour 1948 from a private Irish cellar was the top lot at Bonhams Fine & Rare Wine sale on 28th November, selling for £17,925. It had been estimated at £6,000-8,000. A bottle of La Tâche 1934 from the same cellar sold for £8,365 (estimate £1,000-1,200). In total, the 23 bottle collection made £78,409 almost doubling its upper pre-sale estimate of £40,000. Wines from an important Paris cellar also performed well with two verticals of Meursault Perrières from Domaine Coche-Dury selling for £13,340 each (estimates £13,000-15,000).

Other highlights included six bottles of Quinta do Noval Nacional 1963 Port that sold for £14,340 (estimate £12,000-15,000).

The sale made a total of £710,069.
