An Important Pair Of Fancy Colored Blue Diamond Earrings Highlights Bonhams New York Jewels Sale

New York – An important pair of fancy colored blue diamond earrings will lead the upcoming sale of New York Jewels at Bonhams on Sunday, December 8. The sale also features a timeless selection of jewels from the Estate of Joan Z. Steinbrenner, the former Vice Chairperson of the New York Yankees, as well as signed pieces by the great houses such as Bulgari, Cartier, Harry Winston, and Van Cleef & Arpels, together with a selection of beautiful colored gemstones and diamonds. A highlight exhibition tour at Bonhams Hong Kong will take place from November 21-24, leading up to the full exhibition at Bonhams New York starting December 4.

ESTATE OF JOAN Z. STEINBRENNER
Bonhams is proud to offer a selection of bold, sophisticated and timeless jewelry from the Estate of Joan Z. Steinbrenner. Mrs. Steinbrenner (1935-2018) was an American philanthropist, Vice Chairperson of the New York Yankees, and the wife of George Steinbrenner, the man who built the Yankees into the powerhouse we know it to be today. She participated in many community projects and supported numerous philanthropic organizations over the years including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, and sat on the boards of the National Society to Prevent Blindness, the Children's Home, Inc., the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation and the Florida Orchestra.

DIAMONDS
The sale features diamonds in a variety of cuts and colors, including a fine unmounted Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond weighing 10.88 carats; a pear-shaped Fancy Pink Purple diamond and diamond ring weighing 2.46 carats and 2.01 carats; and a cushioned-shaped Fancy Intense Yellow diamond ring weighing 8.08 carats.

TOP SIGNED JEWELS
Highlighting the signed pieces of jewels is a fine Burmese sapphire and diamond 'Trombino' ring by Bulgari, the sapphire weighing 16.98 carats; an impressive pair of diamond earrings by Cartier with over 13.00 carats of diamonds; and an elegant sapphire and diamond bracelet by Harry Winston.
