Bonhams Sponsors Important William Powell Firth Exhibition at Mercer Gallery Harrogate

The auction house Bonhams is sponsoring the recently opened major exhibition of the great Yorkshire Victorian painter William Powell Frith which is open to the public from 15 June - September 29 at the Mercer Gallery Harrogate. The exhibition marks the bicentenary of Frith's birth in Aldfield near Harrogate and will feature more than 70 works including all of his great masterpieces; his depiction of the overcrowded beach at Ramsgate, in Life at the Seaside (on loan from HM The Queen), the bustle of Paddington Station in The Railway Station (on loan from the Royal Holloway College, London) and The Derby Day, from Tate Britain.
