Bonhams opening wine sale of 2019 saw strong demand for top name wines from Burgundy and Bordeaux.

Highlights included:

- Nine bottles of Pétrus 1982. Sold for £29,875 (£25,000-35,000)

- Three bottles of Pétrus 1961. Sold for £17,925 (£15,000-20,000)

- A magnum of Henri Jayer's Vosne-Romanée Cros-Parantoux 1993. Sold for £14,340 (£12,000-14,000)

- Eight bottles of Petrus 1971. Sold for £13,145 (£11,000-12,000)

- Seven bottles of Chateaux Haut-Brion 1989. Sold for £9,799 (£7,000-8,000)

- A bottle of Henri Jayer's Vosne-Romanée Cros-Parantoux 1990. Sold for £8,963 (£7,000-8,000.

In total, the sale made £560,575.
