as International Director of Watches, Asia

The international auction house Bonhams is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Bourne as International Director of Watches, Asia. He takes up his new position at the end of February and will be based in Bonhams Hong Kong office.

Bourne is a globally renowned auctioneer and leading specialist in luxury watches with more than 20 years' experience. Having worked extensively in Asia, the Middle East, North America and Europe, he joins Bonhams from Sotheby's where he was Worldwide Head of Watches based in London and Hong Kong and previously, he was International Co-Head of Christie's Watches Department based in Hong Kong and New York. During his impressive tenure and under his steadfast leadership, in 2013 Bourne was responsible for the highest grossing horological sale ever held in Asia, achieving $28.3m (HK$221.5m), including the most expensive clock collection ever sold at auction. In 2015, Bourne was on the rostrum for the high-profile sale of the Henry Graves Supercomplication timepiece, setting a new world record for a watch at auction of $24m.
