A bottle of the Macallan-1928 50 year-old, with an estimate of HK$480,000-560,000 is the leading lot at the next Fine Wine and Whisky Sale at Bonhams Hong Kong on Friday November 17, 2017.  With 575 lots, of which 220 lots of Wine and 355 lots of Whisky, the sale has an estimate of at least HK$12 million.

The Whisky section of the sale is particularly strong with over 80 lots featuring vintages Macallan, including the Macallan Lalique 57 year-old (HK$320,000-400,000).
The sale boasts a rare collection of old Whisky bottled by the legendary bottler Mr. Silvano Samaroli from Italy with seven bottles estimated at HK$60,000-80,000, including Bowmore-Dream-1984, Caol Ila-Dreams-1990, Dailuaine-Dreams-1975, Glenrothes-Dreams-1969, Longrow-Dreams-1987, Linkwood-Dreams-1989, Mortlach-Dreams-1989.

Finally, a rarity among the sale is a bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle-1916 (HK$60,000-80,000), dating from the United States pre-alcohol prohibition Bourbon in the early 20th Century. Distilled in 1916, this Whisky originates from the U.S. Prohibition. According to the tax stamp on its shoulder, the barrel was aged in the Bonded Warehouse No.3 of Missouri State until it was bottled in 1934.

The selection of wine features six bottles in original wooden case of Dom Pérignon Œnothèque 1969 (HK$62,000-78,000) and a bottle of Romanée Conti, DRC (HK$78,000-88,000) from the private collection of a Hong Kong collector.

Over 35 cases of pristine cases Bordeaux recently removed from a cellar in France are included in the sale with a dozen bottles in original wooden case of Château Latour 2007 (HK$36,000-44,000) and a dozen bottles in original wooden case of Château Margaux 2007 (HK$33,000-38,000).
A rare champagne collection from another Hong Kong collector is also highly sought-after lot with a dozen bottles of Billecart Salmon Le Clos St. Hilaire 1996 (HK$30,000-36,000) of which only five vintages where ever produced, averaging a total of 5,000 bottles.
