The mammoth hands of the legendary father of surfing. Some nine inches long and almost six inches wide, Duke Kahanamoku's hands powered him to record-breaking swimming victories in the Olympics of 1912 and 1920. Able to paddle himself quickly into a wave, in 1929 he rode one for over a mile at Waikiki–the longest ride ever recorded.
