Aimée Honig is a Senior Specialist for Impressionist & Modern Art at Bonhams in London. She sources business for the department's global sales.
From 2021-22, Aimée was Specialist, Head of Sale for Impressionist & Modern Art in New York, where she oversaw the department's most successful year of auctions, with exceptional results including Femme au beret mauve by Pablo Picasso and the 100% sold The Collection of Amalia de Schulthess, which significantly exceeded its pre-sale estimate from $8.2 million to $12.7 million (excluding premium). Within the collection, René Magritte's Torse nu dans les nuages achieved $9.9 million against a pre-sale estimate of $6-9 million, while Figurine entre deux maisons by Alberto Giacometti sold for $4.9 million against a pre-sale estimate of $1.2-1.8 million).
Aimée also builds relationships with international clients to manage and develop their collections. Her notable consignments include works by Max Ernst from the Dorothea Tanning collection, and Leonora Carrington's important oil painting Operation Wednesday which sold for over $900,000, more than double its pre-sale estimate, at Bonhams inaugural The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale in March 2021.
Before joining Bonhams in 2017, Aimée worked at other international auction houses and gained a Master's degree in Art Market Connoisseurship from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. She has a particular interest in the avant-garde movements from the early 20th century and Surrealist Art.
